Living in Devon I found this book interesting about the Gilbert's, Raleigh's and champernownes. There is a historical information in Greenways boat house saloon. Compton manor still has the old kitchens outside as was the customs at that time to stop the houses burning down if there was a fire. This book is a fascinating compilation of facts and fiction of a very interesting historical family worth reading
